Mary Highsmith, FNP is a graduate of Hampton University with a BA in psychology. She received her BSN and MSN degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing and has worked as an RN in the field of neuroscience, pediatrics, women’s health, mental health and med-surg. Over the past 10 years she has enjoyed working as a Family Nurse Practitioner, providing primary care for the general public and conducting comprehensive pension and compensation examinations for military Veterans.
Nurse Practitioner Highsmith is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a volunteer for the Virginia Medical Reserves Corps. She stands ready to support the community in the event of a public health emergency. She joined Achilles Foot and Ankle Center as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in October 2021. She provides evidenced-based patient centered care, diabetic foot exams, high risk foot care, wound care, treatment for sports injuries and much more! Nurse Practitioner Highsmith welcomes new patients and same-day appointments.
